New Free Service: Welcome Aboard the K's Coach!

8 months ago By Kingstonian FC

Free transport will be made available from Kingston to Fetcham Grove (and back) next season.

From Kingstonian FC Co-Chairmen Mark Anderson, John Fenwick and Malcolm Winwright:

"Thank you to so many of you who responded with comments regarding the interview that Jon Tolley did with Co-Chairman Mark Anderson at the weekend.

What is clear to us is that a significant factor deciding the location of the ground share for next season from those we spoke to was both the location and the logistics of getting to and from that location.

Further to that, we are aware that for those on low incomes, students and fans past retirement age, the cost of getting to and from Leatherhead could be prohibitive to them getting their bi-weekly fix of K's action. This is not something we ever wanted to sign up to and most importantly we need to look after that part of our fan base.

Also, as a Club with a strong awareness of our social responsibility to the community in which we operate, we were also aware of the increase to our carbon footprint due to the extra car journeys and distance our fans would be travelling to home matches, potentially adding to emission levels and congestion.

We have therefore decided to trial a FREE-to-travel "K's Coach" to operate to and from Fetcham Grove for all home matches.

The timetables the coach will follow will be as follows:

Saturday Matches:
13.15hrs from the back of Tiffin Boys on Birkenhead Avenue in Kingston town.
13.35hrs Tolworth Broadway - exact location TBA.
13.45hrs Hook Rise - outside the Leisure Centre.
14.15hrs Arrive Leatherhead

17.15hrs Depart Fetcham Grove - all stops back to Kingston.

Monday Matches:
18.15hrs Depart Kingston
18.35hrs Tolworth Broadway
18.45hrs Hook Rise
19.15hrs Arrive Leatherhead

15 minutes after the final whistle return to Kingston.

The new K's Coach is pictured outside Tolley Towers awaiting its first passengers and shows you what to look out for during the coming months. We think we might even get it branded!

We hope as many of you as possible will follow this green initiative and use the K's Coach to travel to and from matches. There is no need to book and with 50 available seats we hope that we will have sufficient capacity. Actually, we hope we do not, and need to supply an extra coach! However, we would have to employ a booking platform if demand regularly exceed supply fut for the first few weeks we will monitor numbers and react accordingly."
