Met Police 2-3 Kingstonian

5 years ago By Kingstonian FC

Kingstonian moved into the quarter finals of the League Cup following an action packed three-two win at Met Police.

Ty Smith opened the scoring with a fine half-volley in the 35th minute, a lead which lasted until Dean Lodge neatly slotted home the equaliser in the 66th minute.

Penalties loomed had the match ended level, but it was a flurry of spot kicks delivered during regulation time by the referee. The first saw Craig Mullen put Kingstonian in front, before Smith cancelled that out with a spot kick of his own at the other end. A decisive third penalty of the game however saw Lodge seal the game for the K's.

A moment of unnecessary last-minute drama then saw the referee choose to dismiss Lodge and the Met Police full back for an over-enthusiastic embrace.
