Ryan Moss scores a penalty and Rob Tolfrey saves one as K's all but guarantee Premier Division football for next season.

Barring a ridiculous set of results, Kingstonian will once again play Premier Division football in 2017-18 after a 1-0 victory at the Moatside against Merstham.

After Tom Derry was felled in the penalty area, Ryan Moss scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 17th minute. The game became intensely nerve-wracking the longer it went on and K's hearts fell when Merstham won a penalty of their own in the 79th minute. Dan Bennett stepped up to take the kick, but it was magnificently saved by Rob Tolfrey.

The final whistle brought jubilant scenes from the K's players and supporters as the hoops moved up to 16th place in the division.

The next match will be a highly emotional game for everyone concerned, as it will be the final Kingstonian game at the Kingsmeadow Stadium. For Kingstonian's opponents, Havant and Waterlooville, a win in that match will bring them the Premier Division title. Kick-off for this massive match on Saturday 22nd April will be 3.00pm, to pre-order a programme, please click here.
