John played for the Club between 1961 and 1969, making 273 appearances and scoring 211 goals. He is third in the Club's all time goalscorers list.
Both John and his wife Margaret have become regular supporters and patrons in recent seasons and in an era when the word is used far too easily, John is a true 'legend' of Kingstonian Football Club and we feel that this appointment appropriately reflects his playing legacy.
The directors would like to record their thanks to Lawrence Cooley for performing this ambassadorial role admirably since 2000. Lawrence has been a supporter of the Club since 1948, and was an active member of the Supporters Club and also served on the Football's Club Committee until becoming a director when the Club became a limited company in 1996. Lawrence remains a Life Member of the Club and we are sure that he will continue to support the team whenever possible.
We will be making further appointments later in the year which will recognise and reward our playing legends from the Club's history.
