Carshalton Athletic 1-1 Kingstonian

3 months ago By Kingstonian FC

K's finally get out of the traps and claim a deserved point at Colston Avenue.

Kingstonian produced their best performance so far this season and could claim to be unfortunate to not take home all the points after a 1-1 draw against hosts Carshalton Athletic.

A quiet first half from both teams saw a rather louder end to it when first of all the Robins took the lead when a cross from the right was converted by Ricky Korboa in the 34th minute before Toby Ajala hit the bar with a cross in the final seconds of the half.

K's confidence levels increased greatly in the 48th minute when Louis Theophanous produced a smart finish from close range to equalise, and from then on the K's went on the front foot to try and claim a winner. Greg Cundle was unfortunate to hit the post when he nearly capitalised on a defensive mix-up, whilst at the other end Rob Tolfrey produced an excellent save to deny a Jordan Cheadle free-kick. K's pressed for a winner as they had much the better of the rest of the game but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

So, K's lose the goose egg in the points column and rose two places to 18th position. On Tuesday they visit Bracknell Town for a Velocity Trophy Preliminary Round tie. Kick-off at Larges Lane will be 7.45pm.
