Young Carers Day this Saturday
Our match against Worthing is to be sponsored in the name of Kingston Carers Network.
Our next Kingstonian Young Carers Day is happening this coming Saturday 22nd February when the K's are at home to Worthing, a match sponsored in support of our community partners Kingston Carers Network. We will again have a group of guests from KCN, including young carers and their families, and we will have young carers as match day mascots for the game.
The young carers attending will be given Banquet Records vouchers as part of a gift pack from the K's Supporters Club and many thanks are due to our excellent local record store Banquet Records for their kind assistance with this: https://www.banquetrecords.com
Our Young Carers Days at home matches are now complemented by successful football fun days held at Kingstonian Youth's Dinton Field. We are seeing support for our community partnership with Kingston Carers Network now coming from across our whole club.
Kingston Carers Network get some funding from Kingston Council to help provide staff for their Young Carers Service, but have to fundraise for activities for the children and young people they support. In the last couple of years, K's fans have raised £2,200 for this, including donations in memory of John McCormack, the club's former president and legendary goal scorer. We will be collecting for them at our upcoming home match with our friends from Corinthian-Casuals on 26th February along with Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness. This had originally been planned for the Saturday before Christmas but had been rained off and re-arranged.
