Worthing 2-1 Kingstonian

Worthing

Kingstonian are the architects of their own demise as a disappointing performance gifts Worthing all three points.

It was the normal script at Woodside Road as Kingstonian were sent to a defeat against Worthing, but K's will be very disappointed as to how they performed on the day.

Worthing started out very much on the front foot and by the time K's got any kind of foothold into the game, the Rebels led 1-0 thanks to Callum Kealy's seventh minute rebound about Rob Tolfrey made a decent save from a long range Ricky Aguiar shot but was unable to hold it.

K's had enough possession to get themselves back into the game before half time, but was very rarely able to put any pressure on the Worthing defence, so the home team deserved their lead at the break.

Anything said by the Kingstonian management at half time flew out of the window almost immediately as Worthing doubled their lead in the 47th minute - the ball was carelessly given away, which allowed Aguiar to try another long range shot, this time the ball flew into the net for a super goal but from a K's perspective should never have been allowed.

Kingstonian got one back in the 50th minute thanks to Louie Theophanous tap in, but the visitors hardly looked able to get themselves on level terms, so had to return home with zero points.

K's are next in action tomorrow evening, away to Haringey Borough, kick-off at 7.45pm.
