Merstham 0-0 Kingstonian

The main stand at Merstham FC

Nothing doing at the newly named worldflow Stadium.

A disappointing game this afternoon ended in a 0-0 draw between Merstham and Kingstonian, only enlivened by an eccentric performance from the match referee, who managed to unite both sets of teams and supporters against him.

K's had the clearer chances, with a first half goal direct from a corner being disallowed for a presumed foul on Merstham's excellent goalkeeper Toby Bull; whilst Ollie Cook hit the post with a long-range effort early in the second half. Merstham enjoyed their share of the possession as well, but proved to be wasteful in front of goal, and so the game, perhaps deservedly, ended in a goalless draw.

Kingstonian's first team will be at home to Worthing next up when the two teams meet in the Third Round of the Velocity Trophy at King George's Field, kick-off on Wednesday will be 7.45pm, with the winners visiting Haywards Heath Town in the next round.
