Mental Health Awareness Day 13 October

Kingston Mind - for better mental health

Our game against Worthing FC on 13 October is being sponsored to raise awareness of Mental Health Support in Kingston.

Kingstonian FC and Mind in Kingston have agreed on a match to highlight work of the local mental health charity's football project and to raise awareness of mental health support in our borough.

This will be at our upcoming home game against Worthing on 13 October. The match is being sponsored by the Kingstonian Supporters Club to highlight the excellent work of Mind in Kingston and raise awareness of mental health issues. See here for details of Mind in Kingston’s work: http://www.mindinkingston.org.uk

K's supporters will be raising funds for the football project through a bucket collection and donating the proceeds of the 50/50 competition. There will also be a “Just Giving“ fundraising campaign which is to be launched shortly.

Kingstonian Chairman John Fenwick commented that: "Mental health problems can affect any one of us, and Kingstonian Football Club are very keen to assist by raising awareness and in providing a platform for football through the Kingstonian Mind United joint project. We look forward to welcoming our guests at the Worthing Game."

This initiative follows on from a successful event in December 2019 will now become an annual event as part of our ongoing community programme. Representatives of the local charity and players from Kingstonian Mind United will be attending the Worthing match as the club's guests. There will also be a stall with information about the work of Mind in Kingston and local mental health support.
