Margate 2-1 Kingstonian

A decent performance but a disappointing result as K's finish in 10th place.

Kingstonian had enough possession and created enough good chances to at least draw this game, but, in another one of those days that epitomised the 2021-22 season, the K's lost a one-goal half-time lead to lose 1-2 to Margate at Hartsdown Park. The result ensures that Kingstonian finished in tenth place in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

Walter Figuera scored from long range to give the K's a deserved lead in the 24th minute before Daniel Ajakaiye will have been disappointed having twice come agonisingly close to doubling the lead on the stroke of the break.

Margate came flying out of the traps at the start of the second half, and, seconds after Sam Odaudu's shot smashed the crossbar, K's didn't clear and Vance Bola finished off a slick move to drive the ball home.

Kingstonian reacted well to having been pegged back as a Walter Figueira shot hit the post and one from Alex Addai was well saved, but the 'Gate took the lead when Harrison Hatfull's cross was converted by Louis Collins in the 69th minute. Kingstonian had a goal disallowed five minutes later for offside, and after three minutes of added time, the league season ended.

We would tell you what's coming up next but, as we still haven't had any official communication from the Surrey FA, we can't. Stay tuned to the website and our social media accounts for any news if, as and when we get it, but as far as the Premier Division season is concerned, we are done.
