Local Charity Fund Raising at Wednesday's Derby

Weather permitting, our meeting with Corinthian-Casuals will take place this Wednesday and there will be some fundraising for two excellent local charities.
On Wednesday 26 February we have our rearranged local Derby match with our friends from Corinthian Casuals FC at King George’s Arena. At this Corinthian Casuals and Kingstonian will be coming together to support two very worthy local causes. This had originally been planned for the Saturday before Christmas but the heavens opened and the match was rearranged. We are now going ahead with the fundraising originally planned
Each club has selected a borough-based charity ; Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH) and Kingston Carers Network (KCN). We are asking anyone who attends to give generously to these. There will be a bucket collection and this will be added to by the proceeds of 50/50 and “Golden Goals” with money collected split evenly between the two nominated charities.
KCAH are Casuals’ charity partners and do excellent work in providing help to homeless people in our Borough. This includes help with housing and welfare benefits advice .KCAH run a Night Shelter every night for anyone in need; offering a simple meal, community, advice and somewhere safe to rest. They also run a Job Club to help their clients find work and other Emergency Support given includes providing clothing, sleeping bags, backpacks, a mailbox, simple mobile phones and food for people who are living on the streets or with no home to call their own.
