Leatherhead 2-3 Kingstonian

K's come from behind to win an exciting match at Fetcham Grove.
Kingstonian got back to winning ways after a hard-fought and exciting win at Fetcham Grove over bottom-placed (but not for long based on today's evidence) Leatherhead.
After K's started the game the stronger and missed a couple of chances, Leatherhead made them pay with Isaac Ogundere's powerful midfield run and through ball to Michael Bakare, who shot and scored in the 34th minute. It was vital that the visitors in yellow got back on equal terms as quickly as possible, and, just three minutes later, they did. This time Gus Sow won a tackle, Nyren Clunis controlled the ball crossed low into the box and the ball was bundled home by the unfortunate Ogundere, who got to it just before Elliott Buchanan could tap home.
Kingstonian took the lead in the 64th minute when Daniel Ajakaiye teed up Jason Banton, whose curled finish was exquisite, but the Tanners were never out of the game and equalised in the 67th minute when a cross from the left was superbly met by a diving header from Hamilton Bunga, leaving K's keeper Rob Tolfrey no chance. But then three minutes after that, Kingstonian took the lead again, this time for good, when a free-kick was met by Jerry Puemo, who managed to touch the ball to Elliott Buchanan, with the K's number nine tapping home.
Both teams had chances to add to the scoring, but K's will be happy with all three points. Next up on Monday afternoon, a big match against promotion rivals Lewes at King George's Field.
