Leatherhead 2-1 Kingstonian

Leatherhead

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose...

Players come and go, clubs even change home ground, but some things stay the same - a poor performance for Kingstonian at Fetcham Grove is one of them...

Leatherhead broke their long winless run with a deserved 2-1 victory over Kingstonian last night at Fetcham Grove.

The K's got off the mark very quickly when Alfie Doughty finished off an excellent move in the 2nd minute of the match, but the lead was short lived as the Tanners equalised four minutes later thanks to a strike from Travis Gregory.

The rest of the first half was mostly harem scarem three million miles an hour stuff in which the home side increasingly looked the team more likely to take the lead, and in the 51st minute they got their reward when D'Sean Theobalds struck.

K's had plenty of possession in the rest of the game, but rarely caused Tanners' keeper Zaki Oualah any alarms, apart from one shot from Louie Theophanous that hit the bar. but Leatherhead stayed strong and held on to their lead to claim the three points.

Kingstonian will hope for better things when Margate are the visitors on Saturday to King George's Field for another Bostik League Premier Division fixture, kick-off is 3.00pm.
