Leatherhead 2-1 Kingstonian

For the third time this season K's are beaten at the first hurdle in a cup competition.
Kingstonian's Velocity Cup run began and ended at Fetcham Grove as Leatherhead deservedly went through to the Fourth Round after a 2-1 victory in what was Spencer Knight's first match as First Team Manager having taken over from Lee O'Leary last week.
The Tanners took the lead with a goal straight out of the comedy archives in the 39th minute when Jack Strange passed back to Rob Tolfrey, only to find the K's goalkeeper wasn't there and the ball rolled calmly into the back of the net.
Corey Parchment put Kingstonian on level terms in the 56th minute with a superb strike from well outside the penalty area, but parity didn't last too long as in the 63rd minute former K's man Lewis Pearch finished off a fine move down the left to put the Tanners in the lead again.
Slavomir Huk made a couple of fine saves to keep Kingstonian out but on the general balance of play the hosts carved out a few more chances than did the K's and it will be Leatherhead into Round Four where they will visit either Binfield or Sutton Common Rovers.
K's get back to league matters on Saturday when they visit Aveley for a 3pm kick-off.
