K's Under 18s lose semi-final to Worthing

Worthing

A powerful Worthing performance sees the young Mackerel Men defeat the K's 5-1 at South Park FC.

It wasn't to be tonight at South Park, as Kingstonian's first ever match in the Isthmian Youth League Champions of Champions Cup ended in heavy defeat at home to an outstanding Worthing team.

Worthing led 2-0 at the break thanks to goals in the 10th through Freddie Chester and the 44th minute scored by Ollie Starkey before Finlay Chadwick scored a third in the 47th minute. There was a brief spell of hope for the K's after Marco Haigh smashed one home from distance in the 58th minute, but a rampant set of players in blue scored again in the 63rd thanks to Bradley Dolaghan and a second from Finlay Chadwick in the 66th minute to give them a 5-1 lead.

There was no further scoring, and so it will be Worthing who will travel to Bedfont Sports next Tuesday night for a final that will see them play either Cray Valley Paper or Beaconsfield Town. The K's players should not be downhearted though, it's a privilege to enter this competition as it means something really good has been achieved. And there is still plenty of football yet to be played as they have one cup final to come and two other cups to play for, plus another division to try and win. No games are 100% scheduled at the moment, but tune in to Twitter and Facebook for updates on the list.
