Kingstonian 4-2 Corinthian-Casuals

Kingstonian

K's through in an FA Trophy tie against the landlords in a tie that never felt comfortable.

Kingstonian are through to the Second Qualifying Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy after a hard-fought 4-2 win over landlords Corinthian-Casuals.

The game rarely felt comfortable, despite Kingstonian's 3-0 half time lead. K's were out of the traps very quickly, as Louie Theophanous netted in the 4th minute, before Harry Osborne's long range effort slipped through the hands of the unfortunate visiting goalkeeper Danny Bracken.

A fabulous one-day between Dan Bennett and Tom Kavanagh ended with the latter smashing the ball home. A three goal lead but K's then proceeded to make things hard for themselves and Corinthian-Casuals were allowed to get themselves back into the tie in the 49th minute thanks to a Shaun Okojie penalty.

For much of the second half, the visitors looked more likely to get even closer to the K's as they pushed the home team back. Finally though, K's got back their three goal lead in the 79th minute as Youssef Bamba won a penalty, ably blasted home by Tom Kavanagh.

Corinthian-Casuals still had the time to slot home their second penalty from Nat Pinney in the 88th minute. Four minutes of injury time crawled by, before the referee finally had enough, blew the final whistle and K's booked their spot in the next round.

As the Second Qualifying Round will clash with our trip to Macclesfield, this match, wherever it will be played, will not be played on the intended weekend of 9th November.

Next up for the hoops is a trip to Brightlingsea Regent in seven days time, kick-off is the usual 3pm.
