Kingstonian 4-0 Merstham

K's too good for visiting Moatsiders.
Kingstonian scored their highest ever victory over Merstham with a fine 4-0 scoreline at King George's Field.
The home side got off the mark very quickly when, in the 5th minute, Ollie Cook prodded the ball home from close range after Simon Cooper's header was blocked on the line. Ten minutes later, Louie Theophanous doubled the lead when he swept home a knock-down from Cooper after a corner.
A goal in the 57th minute finished the game off as contest when K's got their third with a lovely move - a pinpoint Reece Hall through ball was met by the onrushing Dan Bennett, whose deft chip over the Merstham keeper Matte Pierson was sheer artistry. Finally, in the 71st minute, a powerful run and pass from Kenny Beaney was finished off by Theophanous, whose shot from an acute angle found the net.
The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night for a Velocity Trophy First Round contest, kick-off at King George's Field will be 7.45pm.
