Kingstonian 3-1 Carshalton Athletic

Kingstonian

K's and Robins produce a hugely entertaining game, with the home side taking their chances and an important victory.

Kingstonian got back to winning ways after winning a tremendously fun contest against a good quality Carshalton Athletic team at King George's Field.

Both teams attacked each other throughout the game, but the K's were able to take their chances whilst the Robins found Rob Tolfrey to be in tremendous form.

The K's opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Dan Bennett fired home through a wall of Robins' defenders after Eddie Dsane's never-say-die attitude kept an attack going when it looked like petering out. On the half hour, Gus Sow doubled Kingstonian's lead with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Kingstonian led 2-0 at the break, but the Robins were certainly not out of the contest.

With twenty minutes to go, Kingstonian scored their third of the contest when Simon Cooper fired through a forest of defenders to seemingly put the game out of reach for the visitors. However, the visitors gave themselves a glimmer of hope of a late comeback when in the 77th minute Lewis White scored a spectacular goal from outside the penalty area. But the home side were able to regain their composure and saw the game out to claim an excellent three points.

Kingstonian are next in action on Wednesday when they play East Thurrock United at King George's Field for a 7.45pm kick-off.
