Kingstonian 1-3 Lewes

K's pay price for desperate first half.
This was, let's be charitable, one of those nights. On a cold, cold, cold, COLD night, Kingstonian suffered an initial blow just before kick-off when Declan Skura was ruled out for a pre-match injury. This came before a desperately poor first half for the K's as for the most part the visitors from Lewes were allowed almost to do as they pleased, with the main surprise being that they only led by two at the break, with Bradley Pritchard opening the scoring in the 8th minute before Tom Champion doubled the lead with a header from a corner in the 28th minute.
K's did improve somewhat in the second half, but the Rooks held them at arm's length until a fine strike from Jacob Bancroft, slamming the ball home from just outside the penalty area, gave the home side some hope in the 77th minute. But that hope was extinguished in the first minute of added time when Lewes sealed the deal with a fast break goal by Tyrique Hyde.
K's will try again on Saturday with a visit to Hornchurch - remember that kick-off is one hour earlier than normal, at 2.00pm.
