Kingstonian 1-1 Leamington

Kingstonian

Dan Hector rescues the home side in the last minute and the teams will meet again on Tuesday.

It was one of those "I was there" moments, but it was also one of those "I see it but I don't believe it" moments as Dan Hector's last minute miracle goal gave Kingstonian a 1-1 draw against Leamington in the Buildbase FA Trophy Second Round.

A depleted K's team, shorn of several players thanks to injury, suspension, cup ties and other issues (made worse by a further injury for Reece Hall in the first half), looked like they were going to quietly slip out of the competition after Fabio Saraiva's unfortunate own goal in the 56th minute. In general play this match between an Isthmian Premier team and a National League North team looked to be a fairly even game but once the Brakes took the lead, it seemed that they had enough to keep hold of the lead and would be in the hat for the Third Round draw on Monday. However, Dan Hector's crazy 90th minute shot/cross/cannon/bullet from close to the corner flag moved like a laser, thudded loudly off the far post and ended in the net.

The game then ended in an atmosphere of much disbelief at what had just happened, but there isn't much time to dwell on the game as the replay will take place on Tuesday night, kick-off at the Phillips 66 Community Stadium, Harbury Lane, Leamington Spa CV33 9SA will be 7.45pm.

Kingstonian Supporters Club will be running an Anderson Coaches 53-seater coach to the game, details can be seen at this page.
