Kingstonian 1-1 Carshalton Athletic

Two penalties, two penalty saves, two rebound goals.
Kingstonian and Carshalton Athletic shared the points at King George's Field this afternoon after a draw in which both goals were scored after rebounds from penalty saves.
The Robins opened the scoring when Danny Bassett's penalty in the 16th minute was well saved by Kingstonian goalkeeper Julian Schwarzer, but the Carshalton forward netted the rebound. The teams turned around at half time deserving leaders as the home side had been disappointing.
A change in formation at half time worked well for Kingstonian and they pressed for most of the second half for an equaliser. There was still time for Schwarzer and Robins keeper Lloyd Thomas to both make some good saves, but it seemed as if the visitors would hang on for the win.
However in the 98th minute, near the end of a long period of added time caused by repeated lengthy visits to the pitch from the visitors' physio, Kingstonian got the equaliser their play deserved when the referee pointed to the spot for a handball. This time Ollie Cook saw his penalty saved by Carshalton keeper Thomas and it was the Kingstonian defender who slammed the rebound home.
Kingstonian will be at home to Chertsey Town on Wednesday for a Surrey Senior Cup Semi-Final, kick-off at King George's Field will be at 7.45pm.
