Kingstonian 0-0 Worthing

Kingstonian

This game had almost everything except for goals and streakers.

Quite how this game ended goalless is a mystery as both the K's and the league leaders from Worthing worked enormous shifts to try and break the deadlock, but weren't quite able to.

K's were down to ten men in the 21st minute when the referee, who was usually making himself the centre of attention, sent Harry Osborne from the field for denying a goalscoring opportunity - the free kick on the edge of the area was wasted.

The first half was a battle that saw K's, with the wind at their backs, enjoy the better chances despite the one-man deficit - debutant Andre Coker missed one glorious chance, whilst Fabio Saraiva's 45th minute penalty was brilliantly saved by the classy Worthing goalkeeper Carl Rushworth.

The second half saw the wind at Worthing's backs and they increasingly saw large chunks of possession but they found Kingstonian's defence to be too strong.

Both teams knocked seven bells out of each other all game, and whilst both teams might be wondering how they didn't win the game, maybe a goalless draw, and a very exciting goalless draw, was the right result after all.

Kingstonian will be hoping to convert their efforts into goals on Wednesday night when they host Corinthian-Casuals in another league fixture, kick-off at 7.45pm.
