We are saddened to learn of the passing of 1960 FA Amateur Cup Finalist John Ashworth.
It is with a great deal of sadness that we have learned of the passing of our centre half for the 1960 FA Amateur Cup Final, John Ashworth.
John made his debut for the club against Leytonstone in March 1959, and went on to play 83 times for the K's before leaving at the end of the 1960-61 season. He went on to play for England's amateur international team and also for Great Britain in qualifying matches for the 1964 Olympic Games. In 1966, John returned to an FA Amateur Cup Final as captain of Wealdstone, this time ending victorious against Hendon.
All at Kingstonian would like to extend their condolences to the family and friends of John Ashworth.
