Hayden Bird resigns as Kingstonian manager

Hayden Bird after the 4-0 win at Macclesfield

Following discussions with the Board, Hayden has resigned as first team manager.

Kingstonian Football Club can announce that following discussions with the Board regarding next season, Hayden Bird has decided to resign as the First Team Manager.

Hayden joined Kingstonian in May 2019 after a successful tenure as manager of Merstham. In his first season as Ks' manager, Hayden led the Club to their best FA Cup run in twenty years as Kingstonian reached the Second Round Proper.

This run included several fabulous victories, including 3-2 away to Dartford and then 4-0 at Macclesfield Town, in which Kingstonian managed the highest scoring win by a non-league club at the ground of a Football League club since 1973. The occasion of the Second Round was marked by the BBC when Football Focus was broadcast live at King George's Field before our match with AFC Fylde.

That season also saw an excellent FA Trophy run, which included a fine victory over Woking.

In the season just finished, Hayden enjoyed another exciting FA Trophy run as well as taking the Club to the Surrey Senior Cup Final last month, losing on penalties to eventual National League South play-off champions Dorking Wanderers.

Everyone at Kingstonian Football Club would like to thank Hayden for all of his hard work and for those memorable occasions, and we would like to wish Hayden all the very best in the future. Hayden will always be welcome at Kingstonian.

The Club will be providing more news in the coming days as and when it becomes available.
