Harlow Town 3-1 Kingstonian

Harlow Town

An improved Kingstonian display but the result is the same.

It's now one point from Kingstonian's last ten games as they fell to another defeat today against Harlow Town.

The Hawks opened the scoring in the seventh minute thanks to a fine long distance strike from Tom Hitchcock. K's then enjoyed plenty of possession but rarely did enough to create a genuine chance to get back on level terms.

However, five minutes into the second half, Connor Smith's run and curling shot went past keeper Marcin Brozozowski to notch a good equaliser. K's went on the front foot to try and take the lead, but a mixture of some bad luck and a disappointing final ball stopped the visitors on numerous occasions.

The K's paid for their profligacy in front of goal when the Hawks went on the breakaway, finishing with Matthew Foy beating Rob Tolfrey at his near post with a shot from about fifteen yards out in the 58th minute.

K's pressed for an equaliser for much of the remainder of the second half but were shy once again in front of goal, culminating in the 92nd minute with another Hawks breakaway and a second goal for Tom Hitchcock.

It was an improved performance for the K's this afternoon but the team was frequently guilty of squandering excellent positions and ultimately lost to a team who was more capable of taking their chances.
