Fossil Cup - this Sunday
The Fossil Cup will be taking place at Colliers Wood United this Sunday at 1.30pm.
One of our long term supporters, Iain Butler, had the idea to celebrate the life of Brian 'Fossil' Newman with a special commemorative football match. Brian was a devoted Kingstonian Supporter (and volunteer) for many years, and was loved and respected by everyone who met him.
The match will take place on Sunday 11th October at 1.30pm at Colliers Wood United FC. Come and watch some Kingstonian legends play, in memory of Brian, and for the Fossil Cup!
The match has been approved by the Surrey FA, which enables this event to be held inline with the current Government and FA guidelines. Butler (as he prefers to be called) has organised a game between members of Kingstonian's 2006 Surrey Senior Cup winning side, captained by Martyn Lee, and our 2009 Isthmian League Division One South Championship team, led by Adam 'Thommo' Thompson. It will take place at Colliers Wood United FC, Robin Hood Way SW20 0AA. We are also reliably informed that a notable former (and current) Ks' manager will be in attendance.
Entrance to the match will be free of charge, but to guarantee your tickets now, due to a limited capacity, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive an email confirmation which will guarantee your entry and save you time with track and trace requirements. Please bring your facemasks to the match so that you can protect yourself and others. There are areas of the ground where they must be worn.
There will be a bucket collection in aid of the Newman Family’s chosen charity, Cancer Research, and a special commemorative Kingstonian programme will be on sale in aid of the charity. If you wish to pre-purchase this programme, it will cost £3.50, or anything you are willing to donate to a good cause. Please confirm you wish to buy a programme when emailing email@example.com. There will also be the opportunity to purchase 50:50 and Golden Goal tickets, by depositing the correct money into the donations' buckets.
*** Please note that parking is limited, to players and officials, only at the Ground. The best place to park is on the other side of the A3, directly opposite the entrance to the Ground, on the NORTHBOUND carriageway of the A3. You can park in the side road there, and walk over the bridge to the Ground in two minutes ***
If you have any questions about any of these arrangements, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07308 302923.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Butz for this magnificent initiative, and for the drive that he in particular, and Rex as well, have exerted to ensure that the match can take place. It is truly a fiiting tribute to Brian.
