Continuing Support for Young Carers

Kingstonian FC is delighted to announce on Young Carers Action Day the continuation of our Community Partnership with Kingston Carers to help support young carers and raise awareness of their needs.
Kingstonian FC are delighted to announce today, on Young Carers Action Day, the continuation of our Community Partnership with Kingston Carers Network (KCN) . Our partnership has been running since 2017 and is particularly focused on supporting young carers. As part of this, Kingstonian will continue to feature the KCN logo on their first team player’s shorts and include an advert for their services for carers in all match day programmes.
Research undertaken for the BBC suggests that there are on average two to three young carers in any class and yet most of them have yet to be identified. This is why Kingstonian Football Club and Kingstonian Supporters Club have been working to help KCN raise awareness of young carers’ needs. To help improve carer awareness in the community, Kingstonian FC also offer:
- "Kids for Free" under 18 season tickets provided to young carers
- Young Carers Days at first team matches.
- Football Fun Days for young carers with coaching support
- Concessionary entrance for adult carers
- A link on the Kingstonian website to Kingston Carers' Network.
A "carer" is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. A young carer is a carer under the age of 18. Our community partners Kingston Carers' Network provide information and advice and a wide range of support to both adults with caring responsibilities and young carers.
If you are a carer living or working in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames, Kingston Carers Network can help with a wide range of information and support services. There are similar Carers' organisations in all neighbouring areas, so if you or your family are affected by a caring situation, please do ask about the help available where you live.
For more details, please contact Kingston Carers Network by email (info@kingstoncarers.org.uk) or by phone on 020 3031 2757.
