Brightlingsea Regent 2-0 Kingstonian

Six debutants and a missed penalty help to add up to defeat at Brightlingsea
Kingstonian's all-time record against Brightlingsea Regent now stands at played four, lost four, as a much changed K's side fell to defeat to the Regent thanks to two second half goals.
Tom Bird made his third debut, so to speak, for the club, with Jonathan Muleba, Dan Spence, Ismail Yakubu, Connor Smith and James Kaloczi all making their first appearances in K's colours.
Kingstonian's best chance in the game came from the penalty spot, a kick awarded in the 19th minute when a Regent defender handled in the penalty area. Louie Theophanous took the kick, and the goalkeeper James Bradbrook guessed correctly and made a comfortable save.
Brightlingsea Regent took the lead in the second half in the 57th minute, scored at the far post by a Josh Gould header. K's had plenty of possession but were rarely able to trouble the Regent defence and goalkeeper, and the game was finished as a contest in the 85th minute when a ball over the top was collected and finished very well by Michael Brothers.
So, a disappointing afternoon for the K's, but there is a week to get to know each other a bit better before the next match, a home game on 2nd March against Wingate and Finchley.
