Bowers and Pitsea game postponed
Our opponents have called the game off due to one of their number testing positive for COVID-19.
Tomorrow's visit to the Len Salmon Stadium has been postponed by Bowers and Pitsea owing to one of their players testing positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The statement on their website reads:
Bowers & Pitsea FC are very sad to tell you that the home game on Saturday 17th October and the away game on Tuesday 20th October versus Folkestone Invicta have been postponed due to a player contracting the corona virus. The player feeling unwell was tested on Sunday and the result has come back positive. Other players and staff have also been tested and results are yet to be confirmed, so we thought that in the interest of our fans, players, committee and the teams we are about to plays' health we would seek to have these games cancelled and rescheduled for another time.
We take this very seriously and although we follow the guidelines set out by the FA and the government, things can still happen and we have a public duty to everyone to ensure their safety.
We are hoping that this is a minor set-back and everyone affected will be okay to resume soon.
Therefore, with all fingers, toes and other appendages crossed, we will next be in action on Wednesday evening when we host Potters Bar Town at King George's Field, kicking off at 7.45pm.
