A Squad Update for Christmas

Kingstonian

Manager Hayden Bird announces one in, one out and one on loan.

Kingstonian FC is delighted to announce the signing of Calvin Ekpiteta.

The versatile 25 year old arrives from Margate, having enjoyed short spells at both Merstham and Concord Rangers this season. The club has also announced a loan deal that sees Teo Kurtaran move to Chipstead with defender Juevan Spencer making a permanent switch to Lewes.

"Firstly, I'm absolutely delighted to sign Calvin," enthused manager Hayden Bird. "Calvin has both the physical and technical attributes to improve Kingstonian. In addition to his undoubted quality on the ball, Calvin will provide the physical presence that we have lacked. He first came to our attention last season, playing against us for Merstham. I'm delighted that he has signed for Kingstonian."

"I'd also like to take this opportunity in thanking Juevan and wishing him the success he deserves at Lewes," said Hayden. "Juevan started the season in outstanding form, but more recently, due to the emergence of Nyren Clunis in his position, has been understandably frustrated with his lack of game time."

"Despite his frustration, during this period his attitude has been excellent. Juevan is a popular member of the dressing room and a very good player. A player of his quality deserves to be playing every week, and with this in mind, the right decision was not to stand in his way. He's a really good lad and we wish him well."

"Having suffered a medium-to-long term injury, we decided that Teo needed regular football to continue his personal development. There is no questioning Teo's potential to become an integral player at Kingstonian. However, the next stage in his development is to play regularly. We are hoping a period out on loan will help him."

As we look forward to the Christmas period, Hayden stressed that there is plenty to look forward to.

"Kingstonian approach the Christmas period in good form and well-placed in the league table," said the Boss. "Our performance at Aldershot deserved to be rewarded in victory but we all know that football can be cruel. However, despite one or two setbacks in terms of results, we are in very good condition and are continuing to improve. I'm delighted that Calvin Ekpiteta has joined us and, with Kershaney, Declan and Fabio all very close to returning, we enter the new year with plenty of optimism."

"First of all, we have the festive period. There is no doubt that our games with Casuals and Leatherhead will be very competitive local derbies. They are games that we are looking forward to."

"As we approach Christmas, on behalf of the players and staff, I would like to thank you all for your tremendous support in 2021. Have a fantastic Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all on 27th December!"
