Grier's Guide to Haringey Borough
The match: Haringey Borough v Kingstonian, Isthmian League. Tuesday 8 November, 19:45.
The club: Formed in 1973, they made it to the Isthmian when they won the Essex Senior League in 2015. They reached the Premier Division three years later by beating Canvey in the playoffs.
The town: The ground is in Tottenham, best known globally as being the home of their near neighbours Spurs.
The ground: Coles Park Stadium, White Hart Lane, London N17 7JP. The main stand is well-elevated giving a good view over the pitch and there's a covered terrace alongside it. There's not so much on the other three sides of the ground though. Haringey have a 3G playing surface.
Directions: The ground is close to the North Circular, but rush hour traffic is likely to be horrendous. So public transport is probably the better option - head to Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line from where it's a short ride on the W3 bus or a walk of just over a mile along White Hart Lane. Luckily the game falls in-between train strikes on the Monday and Wednesday.
Tickets: £10 adults; £5 over 60/students/NHS/forces/unemployed; U16s free with an adult. They also make season tickets available for free - see https://www.haringeytickets.co.uk/
Our record there: Wins on both our visits so far. The first came at the end of September 2019 in Hayden Bird's first season and it proved a vital turning point with a 1-0 win in biblical rain. Last season we won 3-2 with Elliot Buchanan grabbing a brace.
Recent form: Currently 17th in the league, it will be a battle between two sides looking to keep themselves clear of the relegation zone.
Players to watch: Top scorer Anthony Mendy only has four goals so far this season but he bagged 15 for Uxbridge last year before making the step up.
Crowd: They've grown well as a club in recent years and have a fanbase who tend to make a lot of noise home and away.
Drinking: The Nag's Head and Spouter's Corner are probably the most convenient, right by Wood Green Tube.
Food: Again, the area around Wood Green will give you your widest selection, with various fast food options, as there doesn't seem to be much on the walk to the ground along White Hart Lane.
