Chipstead U18s match report

Kingstonian's Under 18s began their Isthmian League season with a tremendous five-goal victory at High Road against Chipstead.

A very even first half remained scoreless until the 27th minute with K's enjoying more possession but Chipstead looking very dangerous on the counter-attack. It took an incredible goal to separate the teams, with Iker Noguera Leon stealing possession on the right wing about forty yards out, and then he went for a run. And kept going...and going...and going...after beating more than one defender, Iker reached the edge of the six yard box and blasted the ball home.

K's led by two at half time when in the final minute of the first stanza they seized possession near the centre circle, the ball found Blake Mitchell, who threaded a ball through to Marco Haigh. The K's number ten beat one defender on the edge of the penalty area and beat the unfortunate Chipstead goalkeeper with a fine shot.

It was felt that the next goal would be very important, and it finally came in Kingstonian's favour in the 64th minute after Freddie Bailey sent the Chipstead keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot after Minkyu Ji was felled just inside the penalty area.

Goal number four was not long after, as in the 68th minute a Freddie Bailey corner was met by a powerful Deniz Ozer header that crashed into the back of the net, the goal arriving for the K's substitute just three minutes after coming on.

K's were now in full flow, working monstrously hard and creating numerous chances and playing some extremely aesthetically pleasing football, but it wasn't until the 90th minute that the scoring was completed when Iker Noguera Leon jinked inside a defender and hit a powerful shot past the opposition number one for a deserved goal.

Next week, the K's youngsters will be away to Ash United in the Preliminary Round of the FA Youth Cup, kick-off on Wednesday 31st August will be 7.30pm.
