Free-scoring K's gain first Combined Counties League win
Kingstonian scored their first victory of the season in the West Division of the Combined Counties League youth section after a comprehensive eleven-goal victory over Bedfont and Feltham.
K's started the game quickly and, after a couple of half chances went awry, were on the scoresheet in the 10th minute when Tom Pendrich rounded a defender inside the penalty area and fired the ball home from 15 yards out.
Almost straight from the kick-off, K's seized possession of the ball, and a through ball found Isaac Tano, who sped past a defender, rounded the keeper and slotted home in the 12th minute. And amazingly almost straight that the next ensuing kick-off, K's were three goals to the good in the 13th minute when David Lopes sped to the byline, squared the ball to Isaac Tano, who scored with a first time shot on the edge of the six yard box.
Despite much pressure, K's were made to wait until the 43rd minute for their fourth goal, which finally saw David Lopes get on to the scoresheet after some bad luck in front of goal prevented him from scoring earlier in the game. This was probably the hardest chance of the first half, and it produced a fine goal. Nicolaus Bismarck in the centre of midfield threaded a through ball to Lopes, who, with a couple of defenders putting immense pressure on him, showed strength in holding his markers off before curling the ball past the Yellows' keeper.
That wasn't the end of the scoring for the first half, however, as in first half added time, K's won a penalty kick when the unfortunate Yellows goalkeeper was penalised for fouling Isaac Tano in the area as both tried to reach David Mensa-Bonsu's fine through ball. David Lopes stepped up and coolly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way with the penalty kick.
The second half was much the same story as a relentless home side continued in search of more goals. The sixth goal of the evening completed David Lopes' hat-trick in the 53rd minute with a spectacular snap shot from the edge of the area that power-lobbed the goalkeeper and flew into the roof of the net.
Goal number seven came eleven minutes later and was goal number four for David Lopes - an errant goal kick went straight to Lopes at the corner of the penalty area, and instinctively he blasted the ball into the empty net before the goalkeeper could even think of recovering his position.
The visitors understandably tired badly in the closing stages of the game as Kingstonian's desire for goals bordered on evil. K's were awarded their second penalty of the game in the 76th minute for a trip on Nicolaus Bismarck, but the kick from substitute Jean Paul Munoz Henao was well saved. JP did not let the penalty get to him as in the 77th minute he produced a marauding and very mazy run to the edge of the D before a slide rule pass found Rocco Ilhan, who made no mistake with his shot from around 10 yards out.
The ninth goal of the game arrived in the 87th minute when Bismarck fired in a wonderful cross from the right wing, which was powerfully met by Joshua Alvarez, whose header gave him his first goal of the contest. K's won their third penalty of the game in the 90th minute when Bismarck tried a spectacular overhead kick, but the referee spotted a pull on him that prevented him from contacting the ball. The K's number ten picked himself up and slammed the penalty home to give him the goal that his play thoroughly deserved.
There was time for K's to score their eleventh goal when Jamil Beaumont's corner from the right was headed home by Joshua Alvarez in the 92nd minute. There was only time to kick-off again before the referee signalled the end of the game.
Kingstonian's Combined Counties League team are next in action a fortnight today when they host Manorcroft United at Molesey, kick-off on Wednesday 6th October will be 7.45pm.
