Braintree Snatch Late Winner
A late James Mulley goal gave Braintree Town a 3-2 victory in an entertaining pre-season friendly.
A youthful Braintree Town team left Kingsmeadow with a 3-2 victory, completing a comeback in the dying minutes having been two goals down after 32 minutes.
K's opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Sam Page headed home a corner at the far post before Andre McCollin scored an excellent goal, zooming in from the right wing and beating the goalkeeper at a tight angle.
Braintree got one back with five minutes to go in the first half with a lovely chipped free-kick from Michael Bakore. The same player scored an equally good second goal with a turn and shot from close range in the 69th minute.
Just when it seemed that the game would end in a draw, Braintree pressed one more time and James Mulley got the winner with four minutes remaining, scooping home a shot from close range after a scramble.
K's will be happy with the performance of their players and will now look forward to a challenging friendly on Saturday against Dover Athletic.
