K's Academy lose to Cards in game of two halves
Kingstonian's Academy lost 4-2 to Woking in a match which was, to some extent, influenced by the strong wind.
Woking took a fifth minute lead through Lazar Stojsavljevic, who rifled a shot into the roof of the net.
Despite conceding this early goal, the K’s competed reasonably well for the opening half an hour of the game.
They rather fell away in the last third of the half though, when Woking laid the foundations for their victory.
In the 32nd minute, Vic Hamilton took advantage of an under hit back pass to round Reice Hinds and give his side a two-goal lead.
Tyler Kimsey struck the bar for Woking in the 36th minute following a flowing move involving Callum Brown and Ivan Nsimbi.
Tyler Kimsey had better fortune in the 43rd minute when he thumped home a shot from the edge of the penalty area to give Woking a third goal.
To cap a miserable spell for the K’s, they conceded a fourth goal on the stroke of half time, through a cross/shot from Jordan Long that sailed over Hinds.
Half time: 4-0
The K’s started the second half well and Bruno Morais tested Woking keeper, Guatam Vyas, from a free kick and Taylor Green shot over the bar following a good move.
The K’s pulled a goal back in the 67th minute. Gautam Vyas failed to control a back pass and as the ball ran away from him, Josh Johnson was on hand to force the ball home.
Woking hit back, and Hinds kept out a shot from Kimsey and Lamar Koruma fired an effort over the bar.
The K’s were still having the better of things though, and they finished the match strongly.
Rmarni Blankson went close to reducing the arrears in the 80th minute, but he was denied by a good save from Vyas, who tipped the shot around the post.
The K’s scored their second of the afternoon in the 81st minute, courtesy of Telmo Santos, who headed home a Taylor Green corner.
Rmarni Blankson and Taylor Green both had chances late on as the K’s finished the match well.
