Ks Academy defeated by Robins
Carshalton scored two goals in the last five minutes to deny the Kingstonian Academy a share of the points.
Thomas Hourigan came close to giving the K’s an early lead when his effort struck the woodwork in the 3rd minute.
Carshalton hit back and Myron McKenzie missed a good chance at the far post and Lewis Harknett had a shot deflected wide for a corner.
The K’s took the lead in the 20th minute through a decent left footed strike from Jay Kimoto that sailed over Jamie Humberside.
Reice Hinds then made two saves in quick succession from Myron McKenzie and Francis Sey.
In an entertaining game where both sides looked dangerous when attacking, it was the K’s turn to pressurise the Carshalton goal. Rmarni Blankson caused problems to the Robins defence with a neat turn and shot. Shortly after, he then set up Bruno Morais who shot past Jamie Humberside only to be denied by the offside flag.
Carshalton drew level in the 34th minute. Francis Sey showed good pace and trickery to set up Myron McKenzie who scored from close range at the far post.
The K’s regained the lead in the 37th minute. A promising attack down the right flank between Rmarni Blankson and Nash Doukoure was stopped by Carshalton at the expense of a corner. The corner was taken by Lucas Pina, who sent over a perfect delivery which was met by Telmo Santos, who beat Humberside with a deftly placed header.
Late in the half, Morais tested Humberside, who gathered the ball at the second attempt.
Half time: 2-1
Carshalton equalised in the 65th minute. The K’s failed to clear the ball when they had the opportunity, and Myron McKenzie took advantage to bring his side level.
Pina went close to restoring the K’s lead in the 69th minute, following good play from Blankson and Morais.
The K’s took the lead in the 75th minute. Morais set up Telmo Santos who coolly beat Humberside with a firm low finish.
The Robins were level within a minute, courtesy of a Francis Sey strike.
Carshalton sealed their victory in the last five minutes. Kane Oram’s long range free kick beat Hinds with five minutes remaining to give Carshalton the lead. This was followed two minutes later by a further goal for the Robins, scored by Francis Sey, who powerfully shot past Hinds.
