Rampant K's Academy secure their best ever away win at King George's Field
The K’s Academy recorded their highest ever away win with an emphatic victory against Corinthian Casuals.
The Casuals took a 7th minute lead when Nick Sheen headed powerfully past Ronaldo Cardoso.
The K’s drew level in the 19th minute. Jay Kimoto played a diagonal pass into the path of Josh Johnson who placed a low shot past ex K’s keeper, Jamie Henderson.
The K’s went in front five minutes later. Josh Johnson saw his shot parried by Henderson, but was quick to retrieve the loose ball and feed Telmo Santos, whose goal bound shot went in via the head of a Casuals player.
The home side were unlucky not to equalise in the 33rd minute when they struck the post. In the same minute, the K’s went down the other end and scored their third goal. Rmani Blankson sent over a precision cross to the far post which was met by a firm header from Telmo Santos which beat Henderson.
In the run up to half time, Josh Johnson forced a couple of saves from Henderson, whilst Cardoso punched away a decent effort from Sheen.
Half time: 1-3
The K’s scored their fourth goal in the 50th minute. Bruno Morais met a cross from Joao Augusto with a powerfully struck drive that gave Henderson no chance.
The K’s increased their lead in the 55th minute with a fine team goal. Lucas Pina and Bruno Morais combined well to find Joao Augusto, whose cross found Rmani Blankson. Blankson’s shot struck the bar but Josh Johnson pounced on the rebound to score from close range.
Barely a minute later, Johnson completed his hat-trick when he converted a pass from Rmani Blankson.
The home side refused to give up and Ronaldo Cardoso had to make two saves in quick succession to deny the Casuals danger man, Nick Sheen.
However, the K’s were soon back on the attack and in the 65th minute, Josh Johnson scored his fourth of the afternoon with a low shot past Henderson, with Rmani Blankson providing yet another assist.
In the 84th minute, the Casuals pulled a goal back when Nick Sheen took advantage of some indecision in the K’s defence to curl a fine shot past Cardoso.
The game’s final goal went to the K’s and came four minutes from time. Bruno Morais broke clear and placed a goal bound shot past Henderson, but before the ball had crossed the line, Jozirio Salvador capped his debut with a goal, by tapping the ball over the line.
