Kingstonian 2-0 Ashford Town (Middlesex)

1 year ago By Kingstonian FC

K's victorious over the Tangerines and the Swifts will be next.

Kingstonian have moved into the Third Qualifying Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy after a tough 2-0 victory in the replay over Ashford Town (Middlesex).

K's opened the scoring in the 41st minute thanks to a lovely move down the left wing, which culminated in a Tiesse Smith cross followed by a firm header by Reece Grant.

The lead was doubled in the 61st minute when, after Alec Fiddes was fouled in the penalty area, Tom Derry's spot kick was saved but the K's centre forward netted the rebound.

Mitchal Gough was given a straight red card for a lunging tackle on Dan Fleming in the 65th minute, but K's were good enough to see the game out to move into the next round.

Their opponents will be Heybridge Swifts, with the game taking place on Sunday 26th November, kick-off to be decided.

This means that both the away League fixture against Folkestone Invicta on Saturday 25th November and the home League fixture against Worthing on Monday 27th November (ironically only arranged this morning...) will have to be re-scheduled.
