Kingstonian fell to defeat 2-4 away to Dulwich Hamlet despite a string of saves by keeper and captain Rob Tolfrey.
The home side opened the scoring from the spot after Charlie Wassmer was adjudged to have deliberately handled in the box. Ashley Carew converted the 9th minute penalty.
The start of the second half started very poorly for the K's as Ibra Sekajja in the 49th minute and Dipo Akinyemi in the 53rd minute trebled the home side's lead.
Pelayo Pico Gomez scored direct from a free kick in the 70th minute and K's fought hard to try to make a game of it, but in injury time Ibra Sekajja scored Dulwich's fourth.
There was still time for Joe Turner to score an excellent individual goal with the last kick of the game.
K's next travel to Burgess Hill Town on Saturday for the first of three pivotal matches against teams around them which will go a long way to deciding their fate this season.
